The Path
The Path delves into my personal immigration journey from Turkey to Germany and the arduous challenges I faced while residing in Istanbul from 2014 to 2015, prior to my relocation to Berlin. This artwork explores the intersection and dynamic between an individual and a city, provoking a thoughtful reflection on contemporary issues. The work consists of participatory installation in public space that accompanied by threechannel videos, three objects, and two drawings, Besides those elements, it includes cultural and interdisciplinary festival-like event series around the concept of the work.
The structures are arranged into an endless pathway. The stairs, leading nowhere, have lost their primary function.
This labyrinth-like pathway refers to the chaotic endless nature of Istanbul as well as the experience of living in a metropolitan. The structure offers no place to stay but just walkways to pass through...

The metaphor of the stairs refers to the highway footbridges that I had to often use on the long way from somewhere to somewhere in the year 2014-2015 (in Istanbul).
The participatory public installation was realized between 11.09.2021 - 15.10.2021 in Tempelhofer Feld Berlin. The indoor exhibition was realized at Oyoun Kultur NeuDenken
The name of the art project/festival was again The Path. It problematizes the relationship between metropole and individual, from queer and feminist perspectives. The festival (09.09.2021-15.10.2021) consisted of 3 panel discussions, 4 concerts, 2 sound performances,1 performance, 1 participatory theatre play and 3 film screenings. Events have been placed in two different Locations: Oyoun Kultur NeuDenken and Tempelhofer Feld.
